Brionny Leiper, Reporter

Actress Liz Hurley will be meeting fans and signing products from a make-up range at Jenners on Princes Street this afternoon.

She is in the city to support Estee Lauder’s Pink Ribbon Collection, which is raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

The actress has backed breast cancer campaigns for 12 years after her grandmother died from the disease and attended a similar event in Glasgow last year.

She said, “We want to tell everybody in Scotland that breast cancer is 98% curable if it is found early – if found early being the key words.

“So we want everyone to tell their friends, their mothers and their relatives and their colleges to check their own breasts every month, note any changes and go straight to your doctor if there’s a change.”

At 6pm Jenners will be illuminated by hundreds of pink lights, switched on by Hurley. Over 200 world landmarks have already been decorated with pink lights to raise awareness of the disease.
