Keith Richards calls the stage his office, and for the Rolling Stones the stages of their upcoming 50th anniversary tours will have to be just right.
Their ’50 and counting’ tour kicked off in London last night and will continue in the US later this week. The band will play a total of four shows, one in New York City on Thursday and the final two in New Jersey next weekend.
Band member Ronnie Wood said last Tuesday ”We’ve been thinking long and hard about the set-list but to be honest we still haven’t finalised it.”
The details of the show have been kept secret, but the band’s long time lighting designer Patrick Woodroffe has let a few things slip about the upcoming sets, mentioning that the stage will switch from stadium rock to ”huge intimacy”.
Featured on the stage will be the groups iconic lips and tongue logo. The set is also said to change for certain numbers, which will transport the audience back to the days of the band’s beginnings as a club act.
