With men’s fashion week starting next month designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Tommy Hilfiger are harking back to a time when their front row was full of editors, buyers and stylists, who had a professional interest in the brand. Celebrities and other public figures are not being invited or allowed to attend shows unless they have a personal interest or connection with the brand as designers are condemning celebrities for turning their shows into a media circus that only focuses on them.
