Following weeks of controversy surrounding claims that the former head of the Catholic Church in ScotlandĀ hasĀ behaved inappropriately towards priests, Cardinal Keith O’Brien has resigned and issued a statement apologising for his behaviour.
In this statement, issued through the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland, O’Brien apologised to those he had “offended” and asked for forgiveness.
